What is a VPN?
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) secures your internet connection.
In a way, it depends on who is asking. For a business it’s a way to restrict connections to a single, trusted IP address, for consumers a VPN is a way to safeguard their online activity and data, and for snooping governments, malware, and hackers it’s a giant frustration.

What does a VPN hide?
Essentially, what a VPN does is secure the data coming and going from your computer to your destination websites (along with any data you submit on those websites) and make it so that it’s impossible for someone to intercept it as it’s going in between.
This also allows a VPN to bypass internet censorship or geo-restricted content. Because the data coming to and going from your computer is completely secure and anonymous, there’s no way for a government or ISP to restrict which content you can and can’t consume. Regarding geo-restricted content, VPN Sumo allows you to select which country and city’s server you’d like to connect “through”. This makes your traffic appear as if you’re in whichever country you select, so if you’re located in China and attempting to access content that’s only available to users in the United States, simply select an American server and as far as any website you visit is concerned you are in the United States and get access to all that content.
